Siblings :)

I got some pics of the kids getting along and had to post them! Usually Irina and Crew bicker because he knocks over her towers or tears her books. I guess things will be like this until he is old enough to understand a little more. For the most part she is good to her little brother and he ADORES her but they can't exactly "play" a game or anything just yet. When she is in a different room or gone, he goes to her room and knocks on her door! Looking forward to watching them grow up together and play (fight) like I did with all my siblings.

Addicted to my new craft! Sew what!?

a new bib for Crew from a shirt that is too small
the back is super absorbent..an old kitchen towel!

a pink size 2T aggie shirt for a size 4T aggie girl...

we were covering up a stain on this shirt..
she LOVES it! GIG'EM!

a nap mat for Liam for his first time at preschool! a kinder mat slips in and a pillow as well. the navy blue fleece blanket is attached and the whole thing is washable!

About 2 months ago I bought a sewing machine with the intentions of hemming pants and doing basic stuff around the house...it has turned into my new addiction! I love sewing anything and everything! With the help of my BFF Mancuso, I have made a ton of fun stuff! I have made reusable snack bags, pillow covers, a skirt for irina, nap mats, bibs and of course I have hemmed some jeans. There are so many blogs and tutorials online that you can't run out of ideas for projects! With tips and advice from Mancuso, I have learned SO MUCH and I now have something that will keep me busy and distract me from shoveling food into my mouth. Eating is my first hobby and addiction :)

Crew at 9, 10 & 11mths

9 months

10 months

11 months

music time for the kids = time for a tylenol for me

trying to do a flip

his fave pass time... :/

SOOOO, I'm really behind on blogging and keep up with all the milestones that come with having a new baby, they say that happens with the second child. I have been taking the monthly growth pics of Crew but I haven't posted them, he's not a baby anymore :( His fave thing to do is to empty out the drawer with all the plastic and wooden spoons, what a stinker! I'm teaching him how to put them back in, it works about half the time since he's so tired from dumping them all out :/ He has thinned out quite a bit and weighs just over 22lbs, he is signing "all done" and "milk" also. His laid back attitude is still there although cutting teeth makes him cranky, not to mention a faucet with drooling. Mr. Man loves to eat all day long- he is definitely my child. He never seems to get full, his fave thing to eat is cherry tomatoes and sliced onions..the onions are a bit stinky but he likes them. He is into everything and loves his sister very much, towards then end of her nap he will go to her door and knock for her to come out and play. I cant believe how time if flying !

Typical Tuesday

my Rina and Mr. Crew

making music!

eating kiwi :)
wearing kiwi...

We have been doing our typical stuff lately, hanging out around the house, playing at the mall, meeting at CFA for play dates and just usual stuff. The kids have been playing better, Crew has been walking and that makes Irina think he is a big boy now. They play well but at the same time, they seem fight more since he is walking and knocking over her puzzles or towers. When they play alone in a room it makes me sad that he isnt needing me as much...then two days later Crew acts like he'll die if I walk away from him. Like I said, typical stuff around here.

Swimming and Snakes!

This particular swimming day we had was lots of fun and lots of scary excitement!!! We went swimming with my FIL and my nephew Justin, the kids had a great time until...Crew caught a live snake with his bare hands!!! That's right! He caught a snake in the pool and was trying to EAT IT! EEEW! I grabbed Crew out of his little float and told my FIL quietly that there was a snake in the pool, he fished it out and things settles down. But I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that Crew almost ate a live snake! Gross!!! It wasn't too big, maybe just over a foot long and it was really thin -a harmless garden snake but I was freaking out! Later that evening Crew also took his very first steps! Snake catching and walking all in the same day!

Swimming Lessons

It has already been a year since Irina had swim lessons with Mr. Kaleb and she has been asking that entire time about swimming! She has learned so much from him and we are so proud of her for working so hard and being our little mermaid! She is able to hold her breathe for quite some time under water and is able to actually swim! I'm actually thinking about putting her in for another session in August because she loves it so much!

Crew 7 & 8 months

7mths
and
8mths

Crew is growing way too fast, too fast that this post is a month behind now! My little man is really just a laid back, happy baby. He is moving non-stop and gets around by crawling and cruising all over the place. He likes to dance and has started to sign "more" and also claps from time to time. He also says "deh-deh" for his daddy when he sees him walk off, nothing for mommy yet. Mr. Crew doesn't ever give me a dull moment, he is constantly bumping his head, getting bruises and busting his lip open! He is much more active than his sister that's for sure!

the men in my life, both so handsome :)
they were inseparable the whole night :)

watching them dance was so sweet, she loves being twirled by her daddy

Last week Craig's best friend since elementary school got married! Craig and Abram have stayed best friends over the years and are so excited for him and Jenny. Abram was a groomsmen in our wedding and now it was Craig's turn to return the favor. Irina was also asked to be flower girl and she was so excited to wear a princess dress, which made me SUPER EXCITED and SHOCKED that she wanted to wear a dress at all! The bride gave Irina some very luxurious gifts for being in the bridal party, a silver bracelet with her name engraved on it, a silver jewelry box also engraved, a cute little basket with her name on it and a very cool hanger with her name in it! The wedding was beautiful, and they had such a fun reception also. They had a photo booth type thing that recorded a short video clip and then printed out a flip book with the scenes on it, it was very cool! Both the loves of my life looked amazing that day and the bride didn't look so bad either ;)
arent these neat! i love things that are personalized because i can't buy things of the shelf with my kids names on them.

Irina's egg hatches!

For Easter Irina was given lots of fun things in place of candy and one of her faves is an egg that actually hatches! We put the egg in water and waited about a day or so, the egg started to crack and eventually hatched completely to reveal a little yellow duck. To be honest I was a little creeped out for some reason but Irina LOVED it. We took the opportunity to talk about which animals lay eggs and which don't. She best understood it that mammals carry babies in their tummies like humans, I told her she was right!

The Great Cloth Diaper Change

cute little girl!
crew and i are in the background!
im in jeans and im holding his bottom (striped navy blue and green)

About two weeks ago Crew was a participant in the DFW great cloth diaper change, we attempted to set a world record for the most cloth diapers changed at one time! The Foley family went as well with their two kiddos Liam and Ellie, they were happy to get changed in front of an audience :) There are pics on the FB page for the event and I think my back is one of the photos and the Crew's bottom (clothed) is on another photo. I can't get them all to upload :( Anyway, it was a great time and the event even got some local news coverage by channel 4!

what would you do??

My child hood friend Mary and I get to together every couple of months to catch up since we are both super busy with our every day schedules. Usually we meet up at night once the kids are asleep and enjoy a dessert at a near by restaurant. Recently we got together at FLIPS the sports bar and grill, it was late..I'd say about 9pm (thats late for us) when we got there. We ordered some cake and started on our catch up chat, the place wasn't too busy but it wasn't empty either. Near by was a table with a dad, mom and little boy that was about 6 or 7yrs old. Mary and I could help but over hear the dad yelling at this little boy for no apparent reason, I had a clear view of their table but never saw this little boy act up in any way. The place was filled with t.v.'s so I only heard some of his louder comments like "SH**, what are you doing?", "wait till we get home!" and other things were said that I can't exactly remember. The little boy was playing with a cell phone and didn't seem to be bothering them, maybe he was asking for help with a game, I'm not sure. I kept looking and telling Mary that I felt like I was on the ABC show "WHAT WOULD YOU DO?". I seriously was looking for camera men and thought I should do or say something. Have yall seen that show? I love it, Craig says it was made for me because I'm so nosey and always over hear weird situations. Here is a link to the show http://abc.go.com/watch/what-would-you-do/SH5555951?cid=google_news_sem. The mom at the table gave the dad a few looks and told him to be calm but that was it, I just felt bad for the little boy. Every time the dad screamed other tables turned and looked at them, I was worried for the little guy when he got home. Mary and I agreed that as a parent we wouldn't want someone telling us how to train or correct our own kids so we just sat and in my mind I quietly said a prayer for the son.

Easter Sunday we celebrated the ressurection of our Lord with church of course and a family lunch at my moms casa. Kuncle Obed and Aunt Sawa brought the kids baskets filled with lots of fun things to play with. She is growing a garden and is so excited to see a sprout soon! Lunch was amazing as usual and we just had a great time hanging out together.
