Crew 7 & 8 months

7mths
and
8mths

Crew is growing way too fast, too fast that this post is a month behind now! My little man is really just a laid back, happy baby. He is moving non-stop and gets around by crawling and cruising all over the place. He likes to dance and has started to sign "more" and also claps from time to time. He also says "deh-deh" for his daddy when he sees him walk off, nothing for mommy yet. Mr. Crew doesn't ever give me a dull moment, he is constantly bumping his head, getting bruises and busting his lip open! He is much more active than his sister that's for sure!

the men in my life, both so handsome :)
they were inseparable the whole night :)

watching them dance was so sweet, she loves being twirled by her daddy

Last week Craig's best friend since elementary school got married! Craig and Abram have stayed best friends over the years and are so excited for him and Jenny. Abram was a groomsmen in our wedding and now it was Craig's turn to return the favor. Irina was also asked to be flower girl and she was so excited to wear a princess dress, which made me SUPER EXCITED and SHOCKED that she wanted to wear a dress at all! The bride gave Irina some very luxurious gifts for being in the bridal party, a silver bracelet with her name engraved on it, a silver jewelry box also engraved, a cute little basket with her name on it and a very cool hanger with her name in it! The wedding was beautiful, and they had such a fun reception also. They had a photo booth type thing that recorded a short video clip and then printed out a flip book with the scenes on it, it was very cool! Both the loves of my life looked amazing that day and the bride didn't look so bad either ;)
arent these neat! i love things that are personalized because i can't buy things of the shelf with my kids names on them.

Irina's egg hatches!

For Easter Irina was given lots of fun things in place of candy and one of her faves is an egg that actually hatches! We put the egg in water and waited about a day or so, the egg started to crack and eventually hatched completely to reveal a little yellow duck. To be honest I was a little creeped out for some reason but Irina LOVED it. We took the opportunity to talk about which animals lay eggs and which don't. She best understood it that mammals carry babies in their tummies like humans, I told her she was right!

The Great Cloth Diaper Change

cute little girl!
crew and i are in the background!
im in jeans and im holding his bottom (striped navy blue and green)

About two weeks ago Crew was a participant in the DFW great cloth diaper change, we attempted to set a world record for the most cloth diapers changed at one time! The Foley family went as well with their two kiddos Liam and Ellie, they were happy to get changed in front of an audience :) There are pics on the FB page for the event and I think my back is one of the photos and the Crew's bottom (clothed) is on another photo. I can't get them all to upload :( Anyway, it was a great time and the event even got some local news coverage by channel 4!

what would you do??

My child hood friend Mary and I get to together every couple of months to catch up since we are both super busy with our every day schedules. Usually we meet up at night once the kids are asleep and enjoy a dessert at a near by restaurant. Recently we got together at FLIPS the sports bar and grill, it was late..I'd say about 9pm (thats late for us) when we got there. We ordered some cake and started on our catch up chat, the place wasn't too busy but it wasn't empty either. Near by was a table with a dad, mom and little boy that was about 6 or 7yrs old. Mary and I could help but over hear the dad yelling at this little boy for no apparent reason, I had a clear view of their table but never saw this little boy act up in any way. The place was filled with t.v.'s so I only heard some of his louder comments like "SH**, what are you doing?", "wait till we get home!" and other things were said that I can't exactly remember. The little boy was playing with a cell phone and didn't seem to be bothering them, maybe he was asking for help with a game, I'm not sure. I kept looking and telling Mary that I felt like I was on the ABC show "WHAT WOULD YOU DO?". I seriously was looking for camera men and thought I should do or say something. Have yall seen that show? I love it, Craig says it was made for me because I'm so nosey and always over hear weird situations. Here is a link to the show http://abc.go.com/watch/what-would-you-do/SH5555951?cid=google_news_sem. The mom at the table gave the dad a few looks and told him to be calm but that was it, I just felt bad for the little boy. Every time the dad screamed other tables turned and looked at them, I was worried for the little guy when he got home. Mary and I agreed that as a parent we wouldn't want someone telling us how to train or correct our own kids so we just sat and in my mind I quietly said a prayer for the son.
